Online dating offers? “Dating is a matter of trust”

The market for online dating offers in Germany is booming. But do the offers keep what they promise? That doesn't always seem to be the case. Personal advice is the crucial point in dating.

The statistics platform Statista.com gets to the point. “In a survey from 2020, 28 percent of Germans said they had already been active on online dating platforms. For around half of the users of online dating services, this has already resulted in a permanent relationship or an erotic contact. And even though most couples continue to get to know each other through friends, the Internet and dating apps are already the second most common place to meet. The popularity of online dating is also reflected in the market volume. According to a forecast, online sales for dating services in Germany are expected to increase to around 2024 million euros by 235. The dating market segment represents the segment with the highest turnover.”

Do online dating portals keep their promises?

The numbers are already impressive. And at first glance, membership on online dating portals makes sense for those who are looking for a partner. Comparatively cheap fees are compared to an almost endless selection of singles - if that's nothing! But practice also shows that cooperation with the relevant portals does not always only bring advantages for customers, emphasizes Markus Poniewas. The well-known consultant has been working very successfully in dating for many years and, as managing director, knows PV-Exklusiv exactly what is important when it comes to dating. The partner agency PV-Exklusiv (www.pv-exklusiv.de) based in Düsseldorf is active throughout the German-speaking region and has been successfully bringing people of quality together for many years - for a common future.

Dating agency: Personal contact is crucial

For him, the following applies: “Dating is a matter of trust! This prevents disappointments. Because the very personal contact between the dating agency and the interested parties offers security when handling personal data and information. It avoids people just wanting to test their market value at the expense of others.”

It starts with the supposedly transparent and fair pricing, says Markus Poniewas. The monthly fees can be around 100 euros for a full membership in an online portal. And if you know that the average online dating user is registered on two portals at the same time and that the average length of stay is usually two to three years, you can easily calculate what sums can be collected there at the end of the day.

Back to the classic dating service!

“And this, as numerous practical examples prove, with often rather limited success. Many people turn away from the portals disappointed because the quality leaves something to be desired. Messages with clear messages are sent. Hardly anyone there gets to know a sophisticated single with whom you would like to spend the rest of your life. In short: the risk of wasting a lot of money and time is considerable, as is the risk of frustration.”

According to Markus Poniewas, these experiences led many people back to traditional dating services. Their main advantage is the personal advice. Experienced and professional matchmakers got to know the customers personally, discussed their wishes and compared them with the potential in their database. Markus Poniewas: “The consultant has to prove that he or she handles the information discreetly, experienced and sensitively and uses it to deduce who the right person might be. That's the approach we're using PV-Exklusiv have been successfully maintained for years.”
