Dating experience PV-Exklusiv: Bullying is widespread on the Internet

Customers should not fall for intentional misinformation. The dating agency PV-Exklusiv advises to always engage with the company.

Of course, the Internet is not a legal vacuum. There are rules in cyberspace too - but not everyone follows them. This starts with children and young people. In an international study from 2015, 5000 young people between the ages of 13 and 18 were surveyed. 18 percent of them admitted that they had already been affected by bullying on the Internet. 34 percent have someone in their family or friends who have been insulted online. 65 percent have heard of such a case. “These numbers are of course frightening and of course cause considerable harm to the children and young people affected. But it's not just younger people who are affected by bullying. Untrue information is also spread about companies on the Internet in order to harm them and thereby give them an edge over the competition,” says Nicole Reddig, founder and managing director of the dating agency PV-Exklusiv. The company, based in Düsseldorf, is active throughout the German-speaking region and has been successfully bringing people of quality together for many years - for a shared future.

Nicole Reddig criticizes that this instrument is particularly widespread in dating. “Agencies that do not advertise themselves use the company names and Internet addresses of successful dating agencies to badmouth them and spread false information. This follows a very simple motto: If a potential customer searches for one of these agencies, he will often come across negative entries and possibly get a bad impression. This of course damages the reputation of established, reputable agencies.”

Markus Poniewas, who is one of the best-known consultants in dating and has many years of professional experience, advises Internet users to take a closer look. “Of course there can also be critical voices about a company. It's not about everything always being perfect. But readers should evaluate the information and compare it with other experiences. The entries are often aggressively worded and the site has no imprint or a foreign imprint. Then you should be suspicious, in such cases you can doubt its seriousness. This also applies if the operator of the site is another dating agency. This then only wants to put the competitor in a bad light. We don’t think that’s professional business conduct.”

Potential customers and searchers could protect themselves if we researched more, compared comments and reviews and then drew their own conclusions. “If you have a lot of information, you can evaluate the situation better and classify criticism better. “This is important in order to maintain an overview in times of a lot of misinformation,” explains Markus Poniewas.

For Nicole Reddig, the focus is also on personal contact with the agency. “Customers should feel free to speak directly to those responsible and ask their questions, including critically. Then they get all the facts first hand before they are duped by deliberate misinformation and bullying.” On this basis, potential customers can then make a better-founded decision when contacting a dating agency.
