For Markus Poniewas, the connection to his hometown of Mönchengladbach is extremely important. That's why he's also committed to social and charitable work for people - especially those who really need help. Markus Poniewas is a consultant and manager of the well-known dating agency PV-Exklusiv, which has a location in Mönchengladbach, among other places.
Now Markus Poniewas has presented a check for 500 euros to Pastor Michael Schicks. The money goes to the support association of the Hannes meeting center in the municipality of St. Johannes, better known as Café Hannes. The meeting center belongs to the Catholic Parish of Herz Jesu and does a wide range of social and pastoral work in our four districts of Hockstein, Ohler, Pongs and around Schmölderpark. The social work is aimed at all people in these districts, regardless of denomination or religion.
“The Hannes is a meeting center that makes a significant contribution to good cooperation. The aim is to work for a better quality of life, especially for people in our districts who are affected by poverty, disadvantage and isolation. “For this we need the commitment of our many volunteers and of course also financial donations in order to be able to fulfill our purpose in the long term,” says Michael Schicks, who leads the Herz Jesu parish in Rheydter Westen and is one of the initiators of Café Hannes.
The Hannes meeting center includes the Johanneslädchen, which offers people with low incomes food at half price, the clothing store, which sells well-preserved clothing to needy people for a small amount of money, and the social counseling service, which offers consultation hours to people who need help in some way , and Café Hannes, which sells various coffee specialties, homemade cakes and much more on the terrace or in the café in a very nice atmosphere.
Michael Schicks is of course very pleased about the company's donation PV-Exklusiv. “We quickly find a use for the money because we always need something for the people and the facility and of course we would like to expand the offering.”
“We want to give something back to society – especially to the people who are less fortunate than us. We also see this as our corporate responsibility. We can only call on other companies to get involved,” Markus Poniewas is convinced. In November, Markus Poniewas had already presented a check for 500 euros to the Mönchengladbach KiTa Nimmersatt.
